Flavour Text is the term used to describe the environmental storytelling that gives an audience extra insight into a fictional world. The written equivalent of a found footage film, Flavour Text is an internet wide, narrative treasure hunt.
You find yourself looking for the number for your favourite takeaway online, when you realise that the restaurant has closed down suddenly. While looking for the reason, the audience falls into a rabbit hole of lies and deceit that they discover through review and comment sections across a variety of websites.

Even though it's something we will all go through, death is one of the least understood parts of the human experience, so Chronic Insanity has decided to dive into the deep end. 52 Souls is an open and fun examination of death and our reactions to this terrifying inevitability. Using a pack of cards, the audience randomly generates a series of performances to better understand humanity's obsession with, and ignorance about, death.

Emerge Festival was made in connection with The Mighty Creatives throughout the Midlands. During this project , I and Smoking Guns Theatre devised a day-long festival with young people aged 10-16 around the themes present in Shakespeare's work. This final project took place at 'The Public' in West Bromwich City Center.
ONE NIGHT OFÂ DREAD

The show is a collaborative storytelling adventure where crucial decisions are made by the audience, controlling what happens next. Each story is influenced by classic horror and thriller genres, and is chosen by the audience through the rolling of a dice. Each side of the dice represents a different world inhabited by a different monster that will try to stop our protagonists from making it to the end of the night. From that moment on, the journey and fate of the narrative rests in the hands of the audience.
